Your First Week with Hinge Health

Congratulations on taking your first steps toward pain reduction with Hinge Health! You've begun your exercise therapy and you’ve been introduced to your coach. Now you may be wondering, “What’s next?”

What's Next

This week is all about exploring your tailored program and learning how to make it work for you. To do this, we recommend completing the following checklist in your first seven days:

  1. Complete at least three exercise therapy sessions. They are about 15 minutes each, filled with 6-10 minutes of exercises and stretches, followed by a quick article about managing your pain and making healthy lifestyle changes.

  2. Plan your first week with Hinge Health. We’ve found that the best way to start strong is to plan the days and times you’ll do your exercise sessions. If you haven’t already, you will be prompted to create your action plan in the app after your second session. Your action plan is flexible. As you learn what works for you over the next week, you can adjust this plan as needed.

  3. Connect with your coach. You have access to your own personal health coach (a real person, not a bot!). Your coach can help you troubleshoot barriers, modify your exercises, share educational resources, and much more. Your coach will touch base with you at the end of your first week to see how things went.

An Important Note

While we encourage you to do at least three sessions in the upcoming week, it's important to dose your exercise therapy in a way that works for you.

It is perfectly okay to do fewer repetitions of exercises or even skip an exercise altogether. The purpose of this week is to get a feel for your sessions and how to make them work for you! (You can skip an exercise by pressing the pause button in the bottom right corner. You will then have the option to skip: see image below.)
