Is my personal information safe with Hinge Health?

While the safety of your personal information can never be 100% guaranteed, we take privacy extremely seriously and adopt many measures to minimize the risks, including:

  • We use industry standard technologies to protect our IT systems from accidental or malicious misuse such as firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection.

  • We provide privacy training to our staff, to ensure that they understand their responsibilities when handling your personal information.

  • We have achieved both SOC 2 and HITRUST compliance, standards that demonstrate that we have implemented robust measures to protect your information.

  • We perform third party audits and penetration tests. In other words, we let auditors inspect our records and pay experienced hackers to try breaking into our systems.

How do you use my protected health information (PHI)?

The HIPAA Privacy Rule (HIPAA Privacy Rule) defines and limits the circumstances in which Hinge Health may use or disclose your PHI. We may only use or disclose PHI as permitted by the Privacy Rule or as you (or your personal representative) authorizes in writing. Please refer to Hinge Health’s HIPAA Notice for more information.

Is any of this information shared with my employer?

We never share any personally identifiable information about you with your employer.

Is any information shared with my insurance company?

We share your information with your insurance company for billing purposes. We may also share information about you with your insurance company to help improve the level and quality of care provided to you. This is consistent with the information other healthcare providers may provide their insurance companies.

Does Hinge Health comply with the CCPA?

Yes, Hinge Health ensures that its employees undergo training annually in relation to data protection awareness and the handling of sensitive personal data.

Do you sell my personal information?

No. We do not sell your personal information nor do we disclose your personal information to third party marketers.
