FAQs
Enso is an FDA-cleared, wireless pain relief device from Hinge Health that can help relieve joint or muscle pain in minutes. It works alongside your care plan so you can move with less pain and stay engaged in exercise therapy and recovery.
Enso uses patented waveforms and gentle electrical pulses designed to target different areas of the body, including the back, knees, neck, and shoulders. You can control the settings in the Hinge Health app.
If you’re looking for relief from joint or muscle pain or flare-ups, Enso may be right for you. You can use it on small to large areas, as well as sensitive areas too. Just place it where you need relief, turn it on, and go. If you have questions or concerns about Enso, please refer to the Enso user manual or connect with your physical therapist in the Hinge Health app.
You can wear your Enso as often as you like. Enso can be worn while you do your daily activities. Studies show that using Enso at least an hour a day provides effective relief.¹ ²
Yes. Enso is FDA-cleared. In a randomized controlled trial comparing hybrid form impulse therapy with traditional TENS and usual care, no adverse events were reported over four weeks. As with any medical device, Enso should be used as directed, and your care team or clinician can help answer questions about whether it is right for you.
Enso is not a traditional transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) device. It uses patented high-frequency impulse therapy waveforms designed to provide targeted pain relief in a small, wireless, app-controlled form. In a randomized controlled trial, people using hybrid form impulse therapy were more likely to achieve meaningful pain improvement at four weeks than people using traditional TENS.¹
Enso is designed to help relieve pain within minutes, whether you are dealing with ongoing discomfort or a sudden flare. Clinical studies also found meaningful improvements in pain and function over two to four weeks, which is why Enso is designed to work alongside exercise therapy and the rest of your care plan.²
