Hinge Health is covered by participating employers and health plans to eligible members with certain qualifying conditions. Your employer or health plan covers 100% of the cost of your program. Hinge Health works with either your employer group or plan to obtain reimbursement for your participation.
This program is designed for adults or seniors who are concerned about their balance or have fallen in the past year.
To join, you’ll fill out a questionnaire (it takes about 10 minutes). We’ll use your information to create your account and make sure the Balance Program is a good fit for you. We may determine you’re not able to join if your questionnaire is incomplete or if you have exercise safety restrictions.
We ask you to commit to 15 minutes of exercise at least 3 times a week. You can always do your exercises every day if you like. No matter how many times a week you choose to exercise, we’ll do everything we can to help you stick to your program.
You’ll need the Hinge Health app and a comfortable place to exercise. For some exercises you may need to use a chair or lean against a wall for support. The app will let you know.
Yes, these exercises are designed to help improve balance, strength, and stability, and they can be modified to make them safer. If needed, you can do them next to a stable surface like a kitchen counter, have another person nearby, or work with a physical therapist for more personalized guidance.
Exercises that build strength and flexibility, especially in your core and legs, can help improve your balance over time. We’ve shown that if you perform strength and balance exercises as little as three times per week, your likelihood of falling may decrease by 37% over 9 weeks.3
