Happy Hearts Challenge 2023

Brief bursts of exercise offer a range of benefits such as lowering blood pressure and increasing blood flow and oxygen levels. Join us for the 2023 Happy Heart Challenge from Monday, Feb 20 through Sunday, March 5 as we take advantage of these benefits together.

How to join:

  1. In your Hinge Health App, click on the “Groups” tab at the bottom of the page.

  2. At the top of the Groups page, you’ll see “My Groups” and “Explore” tabs. Click “Explore”.

  3. Scroll until you find the “Happy Hearts 2023” and click “Join Group”.

  4. Decide on a weekly goal for how many exercise therapy sessions plus at least 60 seconds of any additional heart-pumping movement you’ll complete. You got this!

Heart-pumping exercise ideas:

Ready to get to the heart of the matter and choose some cardio for your goals? Here are some ideas — but feel free to create your own cardio mix, too.*

  • Low impact: Planks, or push-ups against a wall or on the floor (can also be done from your knees), climbing stairs, walking, marching in place with high knees.

  • High impact: Jog (in place is an option), jumping jacks, dancing, burpees or mountain climbers (do a quick online search or ask your coach if you’re not sure what the last two are).

  • Seated: Rowing or circling arms, cycling legs as if pedaling a bike, seated jumping jacks incorporating legs and/or arms.

  • Choose your own activity: Whatever your heart desires!

Tips for participating in the Group chat:

  • After doing your playlist + cardio exercise, show some love for your fellow Challengers by joining in the chat and help create a bouquet of encouragement, accountability and laughs!

  • The Group Guides will share 2 posts each morning. One to share your progress and participate in a quiz, and the other will reveal the quiz answer and provide some education and "hearty" conversation. Reply with a goal update so we can celebrate together!

  • Start a new conversation, share a story, or ask a question by tapping on the “Write a new post” box.

  • Connect with your fellow Challengers and cheer each other on!
